Due to the security situation, ERV's risk analysts and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are advising against all travel to the breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and an area of 25 km from the border to these areas.

ERV's risk analysts also regard the border to Russia (to a depth of 25 km) as a risk area.

This means that private individuals will not be able to purchase insurance cover for travel to the area. Business travellers have the same insurance cover as usual, but an additional risk premium will be charged.
