Both private and business travellers must be able to produce a valid travel insurance certificate when they apply for visas.
Different types of visa certificate
Visa certificates are divided into different groups, depending on whether you are travelling privately or on business, and whether you will be visiting another country or you are a foreign citizen who will be visiting Sweden:
Single business visa. Valid for one trip. The certificate must show the same date as the visa applied for.
Multiple business visa. Valid for multiple trips for one year. Sometimes granted for several years. The certificate shows that the person has insurance cover for a longer period.
Tourist visa. Private traveller who needs a visa certificate to apply for a visa for another country.
Business visitor (also called Incoming Visitor) who needs a visa certificate to apply for a visa for Sweden/Schengen Area.
Important information
- Your insurance premium must be paid before you can download and print out your visa certificate.
- It may take a day or so for our system to register your insurance payment before you can print out your certificate.
- The travel insurance policy must be valid for the full period of your stay in the country concerned.
