Our Visitor Insurance provides medical insurance cover for your relatives and friends visiting from abroad throughout their stay in Sweden. The policy provides cover of up to EUR 30,000 per incident/condition, and is valid anywhere in the Nordic region.
If your foreign visitors require medical treatment and are not insured, they will have to pay all costs themselves. Visitor insurance provides peace of mind, since it covers the cost of major items such as medical care, emergency dental treatment and transport home for further treatment.
Visa certificate – essential for anyone applying for a visa
When applying for a visa in an EU country, you must produce a certificate which shows that you have valid insurance. This has been the law since 2004. Once you have purchased visitor insurance for your guests, you can log onto Your pages and print out an insurance certificate. On Your pages, you can also extend the insurance cover or change the start date of the policy.
Extend by another year
When you first purchase the policy, you can ask for just one year's cover. Later on, you can extend the cover by a further year. But since the risk of injury increases in the second year, the premium will increase by 25 percent.
Useful information about visitor insurance
- The premium is SEK 100 for the first day and then SEK 18 for each subsequent day.
- The insured pays an excess of SEK 1,000 per incident/condition.
- Available to persons under 70 years of age only.
- Does not cover conditions which the person suffered from before the policy was purchased.
