Travel in safety

Welcome to the Country Guide, Europeiska ERV’s information resource. The country guide has been developed over a number of years, and every country has its own page with information on the risk situation, important facts and useful information for your trip. Only available in Swedish.

Our service network

Our Euro-Center service offices around the world provides emergency assistance for travellers. The staff speak at least one Scandinavian language, as well as the local language. They also have a great deal of local knowledge, and know what to expect from doctors and hospitals in the region.

    Leisure traveler

    Due to the security situation the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against travel to the boarder area of Syria and Irak, up to a distance of 10 km from the boarder. This does however not include the city Um Qais and the main roads leading to and from Um Qais.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERVs risk analysts regard the Syrian border (to a depth of 5 km) as a risk area.

    Leisure traveler

    Due to the security situation, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against travel within the immediate border area with Syria.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERV's risk analysts also regard the provinces bordering on Iran and Iraq (Van, Hakkâri och Sirnak) and the south east provinces Tuncelli, Bingöl and Diyarbakir as risk areas.

    There are no restrictions for travel to Mexico from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERV's risk analysts regard US border states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, and rural areas of Durango and  Zacatecas as well as remote rural Guerrero State as risk areas.

    North Korea is under sanctions that have been approved by the European Union (EC No 296/2013). Travel to North Korea must be reported to Europeiska ERV, whether the country is considered a high risk area, risk area or safe by the Country Guide.

    Due to the security situation, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against all travel to Guinea.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERV's risk analysts regard the Guniee Forestiere region and Cote d'lvoire border as risk areas.

    Leisure traveler

    Due to the security situation the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against travel to Haiti.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERV's risk analysts consider the following areas in Port-au-Prince as high risk zones: Bel-air, Carrefour, Cite Soleil, Jean Marie Vincent and Montissant as well as Cap Haitien. The rest of the country is considered a risk zone. 

     

  • Ukraine

    Remember that your insurance may have limits when you're travelling in risk areas. Please see the table below for more information.

    Leisure traveler

    Due to the security situation in Ukraine the Swedish ministry of foreign affairs are advising against non-essential travel to the peninsula Krim, Luhansk, Donetsk and the region Charkiv.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERV's risk analysts consider the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as War Zones. The rest of Ukraine is considerd a Risk Zone.

    Report trip: Crimea and Sevastopol (Corporate traveler)

    Crimea and Sevastopol are under sanctions that have been approved by the European Union (EC No 692/2014). Travel to Crimea or Sevastopol must be reported to Europeiska ERV, whether their considered a high risk area, risk area or safe by the Country Guide.

  • Egypt

    Remember that your insurance may have limits when you're travelling in risk areas. Please see the table below for more information.

    Leisure traveler

    Because of the security situation the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel to Egypt, except for transit through Cairo International Airport and the turist areas at the Rea Sea Coast.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERVs risk analysts regards the entire country as a risk area but advises especially from travel to Northern Sinai.

  • Cameroon

    Remember that your insurance may have limits when you're travelling in risk areas. Please see the table below for more information.

    Leisure traveler

    Due to the security situation, Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advicing against travel to the region Extrême-Nord and travel to areas within 40 km from the borders of Nigeria, Chad and Central African Republic.

    Corporate traveler

    There are no restrictions for travel to Congo from Europeiska ERV's risk analysts.

  • Philippines

    Leisure traveler

    Due to the security situation, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against all travel to Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago.

    Further the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advising against all non-essential travel to the provinces Aklan (except for Bocarcy), Samar, Leyte, Iloilo, Capiz and the areas north of Carmen on the island Cebu and also the Calamian Islands.

    Corporate traveler

    Europeiska ERV's risk analysts are advising against travel to Jolo and regard Basilan, Mindanao the Sulu Archipelago as risk areas.
