Aruba
Översikt
Aruba is an autonomous overseas region of the Netherlands that gained independence from Netherlands Antilles in 1986. The territory is located along with Bonaire and Curacao in the Leeward Antilles region of the southern Caribbean. Aruba poses no particular security concerns for investors although seasonal climatic extremes may cause periodic disruption and damage.
Hälsa, sjukdomar och vaccination
The main health concerns in Aruba consist of mosquitoes-spread diseases. Dengue fever poses the highest risk and there has been a history of Zika Virus transmission in the past, which poses a risk to pregnant women and to individuals planning a pregnancy. It is recommended for travelers to apply insect repellent properly.
Travelers 9 months of age or older are required to show proof of vaccination against Yellow Fever if they have visited a country classified with risk of transmission in the last six months before arrival. A list comprising these countries can be found here.
Vaccines against Hepatitis A and Typhoid are recommended.
The medical facilities are considered to be good on Aruba. The main hospital in Aruba is the Dr Horacio Oduber Hospital, which is well-equipped. However, severe injuries may require the patient to be evacuated to more advanced medical facilities in nearby countries.
The supply of medications is good, mostly imported from the US and Europe. In any case, prior consultation from a health expert or medical practitioner should be sought before taking any pharmaceuticals. The European Health Card is not valid in Aruba, therefore a medical or travel insurance is highly recommended.

A valid passport is required for entry into the Aruba. Passports must be for the duration of the stay. Proof of accommodation and financial means may also be required.
