Guyana
Översikt
The most significant risk to travellers to Guyana is petty crime. Border and maritime tensions with neighbours Venezuela and Suriname exist and the porous nature of Guyana’s borders, including that with Brazil, has enabled the extensive proliferation of cross-border illegal activities. The risk of civil unrest is high and political demonstrations often result in violent confrontations between demonstrators and security personnel. There is a low threat of terrorism and interstate armed conflict is unlikely.
