Pitcairn

Pitcairn is an Overseas British Territory located in the Pacific Ocean. It comprises four volcanic islands; Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie, and Oeno. Pitcairn is the only inhabited island and hosts the territory’s capital, Adamstown, which is the island’s only settlement. There are less than 50 inhabitants, who are the descendants of the Bounty mutineers and Tahitians.

Travellers are advised to consult a travel health specialist or general practitioner (GP) to obtain the latest information with regards to what vaccines are recommended about 4-8 weeks prior to departing for Pitcairn Island. Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines before your trip. The following vaccinations are recommended: measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis, polio and influenza. Travellers might also consider the vaccinations for Hepatitis B and rabies, according to the specifics of their travel.

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers coming from a country with risk of Yellow Fever transmission.

Typhoid fever vaccination is recommended when going outside the areas usually visited by tourists such as traveling extensively in the interior of the country, for persons on working assignments in remote areas, or travelers visiting for extended periods of time.

Medical facilities are limited and there is no equipment for emergency incidents. There is a health clinic but medical evacuation may be necessary. It will take at least 4 hours until to reach New Zealand or French Polynesia by fast sea vessel.

Visum

Pitcairn Island is a British Overseas Territory, the only one in the Pacific Ocean.
If you wish to stay on Pitcairn for less than two weeks you do not require a visa or licence prior to arrival. The Immigration Officer assesses applications for short-term visitors to Pitcairn upon arrival. 

If you wish to stay on Pitcairn for two weeks or more you must contact the Pitcairn Island Office in Auckland before making any plans to travel. Without a valid “licence to land and reside”, access to Pitcairn will not be granted. People intending to visit the island and obtain this license should adduce proof of good health, they should pay a $100 fee, they should have in their possession at least NZ$300 for every week of their stay and should comply with some other conditions such as the proof of return from the island.

Travellers should plan carefully their travel to Pitcairn islands and they should obtain visas of transit countries as well.
