USA
Översikt
The United States is a generally safe environment for foreign nationals and investment. It has highly developed law enforcement and national security infrastructure and continues to invest heavily in its intelligence capacity to mitigate new emerging threats to national security. The main risks overseas personnel face while in the US are likely to be related to petty crime, particularly in main cities, and environmental factors such as storms, heavy snowfall and extreme seasonal conditions that can affect travel and business continuity.

The US has high-standard medical facilities, although treatment can be expensive. Treatment can be found at a range of university and community hospitals. Some for-profit urgent care centres can be exceptionally expensive.
Only emergency treatment is provided without prior payment or evidence of insurance. Failure to prove your insurance or pay a deposit may result in refusal to treat patients. If requiring medical treatment it is essential to keep all receipts in order to make a later insurance claim. It is essential to take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance prior to travel in order to avoid immense costs in the unfortunate event that one is taken ill or injured.
Pharmacies are well supplied and widely available. However, some medicines that may be available in your home country such as sleeping pills or anti-depressants may require a prescription in the US. Travellers should take sufficient supplies of medication for the duration of the stay. In this instance it is also advisable to take a signed letter from a medical physician indicating all medical conditions and prescribed treatment, including generic medication names.

Visitors to the US must be travelling on a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of departure from the country.
Visum
A foreign national entering the US is generally required to present a passport and valid visa issued by a US Consular Official unless they are a lawful permanent resident of the US, a citizen of Canada or of a country eligible for the Visa Waiver Program. This program allows foreign nationals from specific countries to be admitted to the US under limited conditions and for no longer than 90 days without obtaining a visa.
All travellers transiting the United States are subject to the customs/immigration laws. Those who are passing through the US in transit but are not entitled to the Visa Waiver Programme must apply for a visa prior to travel.
From 24 June 2020, the government will suspend the issuance of green card visas. US embassies and consulates worldwide will suspend the issuance of L-1 visas for intra-company transfers, H-1B visas for workers in speciality occupations, H-4 visas for spouses, H-2B visas for temporary non-agricultural workers and most J-1 visas for work and student exchange visitors until further notice.
