Wallis- och Futunaöarna

Wallis and Futuna is a French Overseas Territory comprised of three volcanic tropical islands and several tiny islets. The capital of the collectivity is Matāʻutu on the island of Uvéa, the most populous of the Wallis Islands.

Hälsa, sjukdomar och vaccination

Travellers are advised to consult a travel health specialist or general practitioner (GP) to obtain the latest information with regards to what vaccines are recommended about 4-8 weeks prior to departing for Wallis and Futuna. Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines before your trip. The following vaccinations are recommended: measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis, polio and influenza. Travellers might also consider the vaccinations for Hepatitis B and rabies, according to the specifics of their travel.

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers coming from a country with risk of Yellow Fever transmission.

Typhoid fever vaccination is recommended when going outside the areas usually visited by tourists such as traveling extensively in the interior of the country, for persons on working assignments in remote areas, or travellers visiting for extended periods of time.

Medical care in Wallis and Futuna is limited. There are only two public hospitals. One is located on Wallis and the other on Futuna. Both hospitals expect payment in cash, regardless of whether you have travel health insurance.

Pass

Passports valid for at least three months beyond dates of travel are required for all foreign nationals except nationals of France who have a valid ID card.

Visum

Visas are not required for the following countries for stays of up to three months: Australia and the UK. Visas are not required for the following countries for stays of up to one month: Canada and the USA. Citizens of the EU can travel to Wallis and Futuna for an unlimited period. 

Visas cost the same regardless of entries and duration of stay. The cost for a visa is 35 Euros.
